Sharing experiences in the class

A trip abroad

Hello, welcome to my blog. In this activity we're going to exchange experiences, writing about different topics.

Today we're going to talk about the holidays. This is a picture of my last trip last summer. I went to Egypt for eight days. It was a lot of action in only eight. We did a lot of sightseeing and learnt a lot ancient history. This was one of my best trips I've ever made. I visited the pyramids and I was really impressed. The weather was boiling hot and I took a bottle of water on all the excursions, and then bought more on the way. I was really exhausted but happy after these intense holidays, but maybe this is not the kind of holidays you prefer.

This is a video of the concert I saw. It was about Egyptian traditional music and belly dance. I had a very good time and enjoyed myself a lot. I think this was the best trip I have ever made in my life and I will never forget it.

There was a friend of mine who also went to Egypt but in January, which is best because the weather is not so hot. Here is a description of her experience:

"It's usually quite mild in January, and it doesn't often rain, so you don't have to bring warm clothes. But you'll need a light coat and jumper as it can get cold in the evening. There are some wonderful museums, especially the Museum of Islamic Art, and the mosques are beautiful. If you want to see the Pyramids, it's the best to go on horseback, and I think you should go in the early morning or late afternooon.

Bring travellers' cheques with you. You can change them very easily, but you have to change money in the country, because you can't take any money out the country.

The best place to try the local food is in the city centre. you could try some koftas or kebabs, which are meat, usually lamb or falafel, which is a kind of bean ball mixed with herbs, and fried until it's crispy.

Here you have some pictures that I took of the food I ate. It was delicious!

To drink one of the nicest things is mint tea, especially if it is hot. Its very refreshing. If you have time, you really should go on a Nile cruise. There are all sorts of places to choose from, and you can visit places that are difficult to get by land."

Have you ever been to Egypt? Not necessarily so, but you can tell me about any other experience that you have had abroad which for you was very interesting. We can publish all your experiencies in this blog.
